Mr Michael Moore AM

CEO, Public Health Association of Australia

Michael Moore AM is the CEO of the Public Health Association of Australia and is the President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.  He is the chair of a number of health networks.  Michael is a former Minister of Health and Community Care and was an Independent member of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly for four terms from 1989 to 2001.  He was Australia’s first independent Minister when he was appointed as Minister of Health and Community Care. In 2017 he was honoured by being made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).

Michael is a former teacher, small business owner and consultant who holds a post-graduate diploma in education, a master’s degree in population health from the ANU, is a Visiting Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, and an adjunct professor with the University of Canberra where he is a PhD Scholar examining a framework for planning or evaluating health advocacy.  He is widely published.  He is also a political and social columnist who has served on a range of academic and community Boards.

Ms Nicole Rutter

Events & Capacity Builder Manager, Public Health Association of Australia

Nicole is a highly skilled and experienced Events professional. Nicole holds a number of qualifications in events management including a Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management. Nicole has been working in the health sector in events management for nearly 10 years, working with the Australian General Practice Network, Australian Medicare Local Alliance and the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. Nicole was recruited by the Public Health Association of Australia in early 2016, running a number of successful events and bring in processes and procedures for events management, establishing an organisational attitude towards events and capacity building for the association. 

Nicole has a keen interest in continuing professional development and learning and is always looking for new and innovative ways to manage events and learn new skills. Nicole has a strong interest in business management, strategy and event design, and a passion for reading (many genres). With a continuing interest in learning, Nicole is currently undertaking a Masters of Project Management. 

Ms Eliza Van Der Kley

Events Administration Officer, Public Health Association of Australia

Eliza Van Der Kley joined the Public Health Association of Australia team in December 2016 bringing with her 5 years’ experience in the events industry. After graduating with a Diploma in Events Management she worked in hotels and event venues gaining experience in sales, client relationship management, event and financial management and contract negotiation with clients from Associations, Corporate sectors, Universities, Not-for-profit Organisations as well as private.

Eliza brings her strong organisational and time management skills to the PHAA team. She is passionate about the events industry and looks forward to furthering her knowledge and expertise in her events career.
